Who made RubyRags? And why?

RubyRags was created by Ryan Norbauer of Norbauer Inc (an international ruby consultancy based in Boston.)

It just seemed like a fun idea for Ruby community-spirit-building. It has also been a great excuse to play with some awesome illustrators and learn all about screen-printing and "e-commerce fulfillment" (since I'm far too lazy to mail the shirts all myself.)

I'm also sort of a Ruby chauvinist. Ruby reinvigorated my life-long love of programming, and so it gets me passionate. Passionate people love to wear things that proclaim their passions to other people. Shirt designs are a fun way to do that. QED.

Can I return an item? How?

Sure. If you find that you would like to return an item, you may do so for any reason within 14 days of its arrival provided it's still in unworn/unwashed condition. You are responsible for packaging the shirt back up and sending it to us, along with the original packing slip to:

Norbauer Inc
c/o Sprocket Express
23 West Bacon St, Suite 5
Plainville, MA 02762

What does "flat rate" shipping mean?

It means that you can order as many shirts as you like and the shipping will cost the same, from 2 to 200 shirts. (We do give a discount off the flat rate if you order just one shirt.)

Can you custom-print a batch of shirts for my team or company?

We're happy to do so. Just e-mail us to explain your needs: .

What currency are all prices quoted in?

USD. Your credit card will charge you the current day's exchange rate against the dollar if your card is based in another currency.

Why only a discount for Rails core contributors?

Rails is the main reason for the recent ascendancy of Ruby, and the people who have helped build that framework deserve our thanks. (Incidentally, Rails also happens to have a nice Trac set up that allows us to automate giving discounts.)

The RubyRags site looks funny in Microsoft Internet Explorer.

So does your mom.

Where did you get those swank link icons?

The ever-awesome FamFamFam.

Can I submit a design or an idea for a shirt?

That would be splendid. We pay $50 for ideas that we end up printing and $150 for actual designs that we print.

What happens if an order is returned to RubyRags as undeliverable?

If an item is returned to us as "undeliverable" by the shipping carrier, you will be issued a refund less the original shipping costs.
